Seam is run by Megakad. We are the data controller for the information you give us. We follow the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we keep
- Your sign-in email address.
- The CVs you upload and the career history we build from them.
- Job ads or descriptions you paste, and the CVs and letters we make for you.
- Your credit history and payment records (card details stay with Stripe).
Why
To provide the service you asked for (contract), to keep records we must keep for tax (legal obligation), and to keep the service secure (legitimate interest). We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or run analytics on your CV content.
Who processes it for us
- DigitalOcean: hosting and encrypted file storage (EU/UK region).
- Firebase / Google: email sign-in links.
- OpenAI: reading CVs and tailoring text, with no training on your data.
- Stripe: payments.
- Resend: transactional email.
How long
Uploaded files are deleted 30 days after we read them; your history and documents stay until you delete them. Deleting your account removes everything within 30 days.
Your rights
You can export or delete your data from Account at any time. You can also ask us to correct or restrict it, or object to how we use it. You may complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
